Bio

Dr. Sen earned a PhD in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in December 2019, where he studied the effect of construction materials (primarily pavement materials) on the urban heat island effect using Computational Fluid Dynamics. He began working as a postdoctoral associate at Pitt in January 2020, where he worked on efficiently modeling crack development in concrete pavements and implementing a new faulting model into Pitt’s BCOA-ME online tool. He participated in activities of the TRB AKP00(2) Subcommittee on Sustainable and Resilient Pavements and served as a peer reviewer for several well-known journals in pavement engineering and environmental modeling. Dr. Sen has since begun working at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar as an assistant professor.
